World Returns to Laughter takes on a predominantly electronic sound perfectly fitting it's providential story of inevitable collapse. This is how the survivors would be telling the story hundreds of years from now using primitive technology. There is an ambient beauty interspersed by utter chaos to invoke your fight or flight instincts, making this a true masterpiece in subliminal messaging.
A musical storyteller must give the full experience not just through lyrics, but total immersion in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic nightmare. World Returns to Laughter certainly succeeds in forced immersion utilizing an hour and fourteen minute journey to the end of human civilization as we know it. Leave your ego at the door: your new one will be issued at the beginning of the album, and you will not be the same when it ends.
Last post was October... but things actually do happen around here. This is a really nice track from Cerebrin featuring guest vocalists Walt Rogers (verses) and Christine Ho (Choruses). "Hindsight Blues" also debuts Cerebrin on upright bass and the harmonic mastery of Messy Tables on the vibraphone. Check out this great track free of charge!
This is a really cool review of Cerebrin's "Monsters". Check it!
