Electro funk by SYS. Amity Blamity is a new Graphic Novel by Mike White. Check it. Bacchus Joint did an EP sometime in 2008 that is available for free on their website here http://bacchusjoint.com/page3/page3.html The EP is called "Somewhere Everybody Knows" and features quite a bit of post production and effects that sets it apart from their most recent release "Days Of Bright Commotion". Below is the song "Somewhere Everybody Else Knows" which is one of the highlight tracks on the album and is almost completely electronic. We posted some videos a few months ago of recording sessions in the SLG Art Boutiki of music being recorded for a documentary by filmmaker Scott Bayer. The project is nearing completion, and he asked us for more music. We had two sessions in the past few nights, and some of the tunes came out pretty well. From top to bottom in order: A Technical Rat Song Sir Dreams Alot In 5/4 (Nobody can handle Sir Dreams Alot in 4/4, so we had to put it in 5/4) The Happening Your Baby Ain't Sweet Like Mine (A very old song now in the public domain; vocals and uke by Rich Gutierrez) Personnel: Rich Gutierrez- vibes, uke, vocals, claps, shaker Dustin Vado- everything else On the first friday in december, a supergroup of sorts played at the SLG Art Boutiki combining the group "Strobehead" and members of Slab Yard. Jokingly called "Slabhead" for the evening, Jason Hallyburton on Keyboards and percussion, Noaa Rienecker on guitar and vocals, Danny Spiteri on bass, Dillon Vado on drums, and Dustin Vado on guitar treated The Boutiki to an evening of covers and improvisation. You can stream some choice recordings from the evening. We have been working with filmmaker Scott Bayer for the past few months on his new documentary which is set to be released hopefully by early next year. Below is some video from the recording sessions in the SLG Art Boutiki. We had a projector and screen set up playing parts of the movie for inspiration. These were some really fun sessions. The musicians are Rich Gutierrez on acoustic guitar, Chris Haskett on drums, and Dustin Vado on electric guitar.
