The story started with the idea that the music would be the soundtrack to a comic book about a future world devastated by multiple global wars and human-spawned catastrophe.   The plan was to walk interested musicians through the songs and learn them in  time to have the story boarded out.  That never happened.    Instead, I ran with my initial idea of tying an allegorical critique with post-apocalyptic sounds using Garageband.  Not being able to walk away from it, I reworked the tracks, reforming and layering loops, building 4th and 5th takes into one nearly great-take, putting the project to rest only to revisit it again and revive this song-cycle from the C: drive into its present state.  The 2nd half is inspired by traveling in the western United States, so let the 1st half represent how long it takes to get the trip started.
